Your poster printing will have a scratch and water-resistant finish which negates the need for a separate lamination layer.
Poster Paper Types
Blueback Semi Gloss Paper 120gsm
This semi gloss coated water resistant paper is ideal for the production of posters. Show-through is minimised by use of a blue backing layer. Easy to paste, fold and hang with excellent wet strength. This paper is usually used for billboards so is as good outdoors as it is indoors. A fantastic all purpose poster printing paper.
Semi Matte Paper 210gsm
A semi matte, multi-layer coated, poster paper for high production printing. The smooth, low sheen anti-reflective coating is ideal for indoor graphics and its water-resistant properties together with the strong base paper make it ideal for outdoor billboards too. This newly developed paper also offers a wide colour gamut, giving an outstanding photographic print result when used with a variety of ink types. A very nice quality thick paper for those wanting a non-reflective matt finish to their personalised posters.
High Gloss Photo Paper 225gsm
A true multi layered photo grade paper offering the widest colour gamut and very high ink loads. The high gloss finish gives an outstanding photographic reproduction especially when used with 7 or 10 colour printers. Cockle free and scratch resistant. Out top grade paper will give a fantastic full gloss finish to your posters.
Usually used for roll up and x-banners it makes an excellent material for poster production. It is much harder to rip than paper. Is scratch and water resistant. Gives an excellent finish on its bright white matt surface. Has a grey backing to eliminate any show through. Slightly more expensive than paper but much tougher and will last a lot longer.
Self adhesive 150gsm Semi-gloss paper
A poster paper but with a self adhesive backing. Useful for attaching to Foamex boards, exhibition stands, trade shows etc. A great quality self adhesive poster with a peel off backing. Permanent adhesive.
Poster Printing Sizes
We have all the standard sizes A2 A1 A0 etc, as well as some more unusual sizes like our banner and our 1200 x 400 mm panoramic posters. These are in a 3:1 ratio and look fantastic on a wall with a custom frame. We can also produce square posters which are becoming more popular and Printvent is the home of the round poster. This is part of our soft signage products, and does blur the lines between a traditional poster and a wall sticker. We produce the round posters on “Stickytex” which is a polyester fabric. It is incredibly tough and can be removed easily with no damage or residue on the walls. They will be delivered to you on a backing sheet and are very simple with the application, they are just peel and stick. If you need custom shapes doing we can kiss cut Stickytex to any shape you require (depending on site of artwork) if you have an SVG or PNG file with a transparent background. We have a blog post about Stickytex here.
If you require a bespoke wall sticker then please contact us. We have some of the best prices in the UK for quality wall stickers.
If you have your own print ready artwork you can simply use the upload files button in the product page. If you need to design your printed poster then you have access to the Printvent designer. The designer will let you use your own photos, logos, text and graphics to come up with a completely unique personalised poster design. You can access your Facebook and Instagram photos and as well as having access to the 1.3 million pictures that are free on Pixabay. A great way to produce a completely unique peronalised printed poster.
How quick is delivery?
We like to give our posters time to dry properly after printing. If they are left for 24 hours lying flat then they will be stronger and less prone to any problems with the print. We aim to ship your order the day after you place your order. We use various shipping methods depending on the size but you will usually have your order within 3 working days of ordering. If you need it sooner pleaes let us know we will always try to help.
Will the print fade?
NO ! We only use professional ink and printers. Your posters will be printed on a wide format Roland printer costing many thousands of pounds. We will use seven ink colours of eco-solvent ink to give a vibrant finish to your poster.
Is the ink you use on posters safe?
Absolutely. We use an eco-solvent ink. We only use Roland branded ink. This ink has been Greenguard gold approved as being safe to use even in school and health care settings. See our blog post about the ink here for more information.
